The Hi-Torque® fastener recess was designed to meet the need for a shallow recess used in reduced head fasteners. The development of the Hi-Torque® system also includes the coin-slot recess option for use in a range of applications in the aerospace and aeronautics industry. The coin-slot drive is called such because of its ability to drive a suitable coin fitting in the curved bottom recess to create a very usable driver. The Hi-Torque® driver and recess technology can accommodate all jobs as it was designed to provide high installation ease and removal torque even in shallow recesses in thin skins. This reduces the need for driver end-load while installing and removing screws. They are also suitable for applications that require high clamping loads, decreased head heights, and where access is restricted to ensure the job is still completed quickly. These are well suited to the functionality of Hi-Torque® HTS, including the Coin Slot options. In addition, the unique undercut feature of the Hi-Torque® recess allows the driver to lock in without applying end load to maintain engagement.
